Arrival & Issuance

Important: The Iqama must be issued within 90 days of your arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Phase 3: Arrival and Medical Clearance

Upon entering Saudi Arabia, two critical steps must be completed immediately:

Medical Check: You must undergo a new medical examination at a Ministry of Health-approved center inside the Kingdom. This result is electronically linked to the Ministry of Interior.
Insurance: The employer must purchase a Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) compliant policy for you.

Phase 4: Issuance

Once the medical report clears and the government fees are paid, the Iqama is issued. This is typically done digitally via the Muqeem portal by your company's HR. The physical card can then be collected by the company’s Government Relations Officer (GRO) or the employee.

Digital Onboarding: Absher & Nafath

Possessing the physical card is not enough. You must register on Saudi e-government platforms to validate your identity.

Absher

The Ministry of Interior’s portal for government services.

Action: Visit a self-service kiosk to validate your fingerprints and link your mobile number.

Nafath

The unified digital identity platform.

Action: Register using your Absher credentials. Required to approve banking transactions.
